RE: Just of a thought of thankfulness!!

I am sooooo glad I'm not the only one that feels this way!! In todays times where families are falling apart, camping is such a wonderful way to stay together. My family really likes being together! I know that sounds funny but in todays times that is so important!
You know it doesn't matter what you camp in, whether a tent, popup, travel trailer or motor home it's about being together!! Sharing experiences, sharing in each others lives together!! There's nothing like sitting around a campfire and talking and laughing with each other (roast a little marshmellow now and then too!)!
We were at a friends house one time and there was quite a few around the dining room table. To get conversation started the host asked us each to describe a smell and what comes to your mind when you smell it. There was many different answers, some funny too, but when it came my turn I said a campfire smell! When I smell this when I'm just driving around anywhere it is a WONDERFUL smell not because of the smell itself but of the WONDERFUL memories it brings back to me! It is so funny when we are all in the car and we all smell that smell at the same time, it's like we all inhale and go AHHHHH!! It's because it brings us all such great feelings when we smell it!! Isn't that funny!!
I am truly enjoying reading all your responses, thank you!!!!!!

Just of a thought of thankfulness!!

I have to give credit where credit is due. I am so thankful for my parents and that they took me camping when I was young. Now I am blessed to be passing this joy of travel and adventure on to my boys!!
I'm just sitting here thinking over our last camping trip of the season this past weekend at Rocky Fork State Park. It was such a nice time. Weather was beautiful, the view was beautiful and being with my family was the best!!
I truly believe that these camping adventures we take year after year just draws my family closer together each and every time!! Because of camping we've been able to expose our kids to so many different, wonder and beautiful places in our country! So many times there's just no agenda we place on our trips other than just experiencing something new!
I know my boys will do the same when they get older with their own families. My oldest (14) even says things now like "when I get my own camper someday we can camp together"!!! He's already mentioned about the popup with the trailer on the front so he can haul his ATV with him!
I don't know why I'm rambling but I just wanted to share how much camping and traveling around the country has meant to my family!!
Many of you have been a part of this experience by just sharing your experiences with me! I thank you all for sharing and maybe we may cross paths in our travels someday!!!
Blessings!!!

RE: Vacuum Cleaner???

Thank you all for your responses, I greatly appreciate it!!!
I'm looking for as small as possible but one that works great! I'm tired of running over the same little piece of gravel that just won't suck up in the machine!!!! We have a 30' TT but with 2 boys still in tow and the available storage is limited.
Thanks again!!!

Vacuum Cleaner???

I am looking for a small vacuum cleaner that really works!! I purchased a small cannister vacuum at Walmart for our TT for space reasons and it really doesn't do a good job. Is there anything out there that you can recommend that really works???
Thanks!!!!!!!

RE: Brown County, IN

I can't answer your question but I can let you know that once my sister and brother-in-law went at that time of year and woke up to a couple inches of snow on the ground!!! Thank goodness for them it didn't last! They had a good time anyway!! Have fun!!!
Our last trip for the season is this weekend!

RE: Wall papering inside your RV!

Thank you so much Lucy for the RV makeover pics. I cannot believe what a little imagination can do for your TT!! This definitely has given me a little more ideas then just wallpapering!! :)

Wall papering inside your RV!

Hi! The previous owner of our TT had put up some wallpaper border in the living room area and I would like to do the same in the bedroom with my left over wallpaper border from the bedroom of our house. I would like to know from others who've already done this, is there anything special I need to do to either the wallpaper or the wall itself before putting it up? Since the wall material is different from the drywall in the house, I didn't know if there is anything special I should do to make sure it would adhere well and stay put!
Thank You!!!

True open ocean views on Maine coast???

Hi Everyone!! Next year our family is finally having our family reunion in MA but after the reunion we're heading up the Maine coastline to head up to the family farm in Alexander. Between MA and the Alexander ME destination we want to stay in a couple places for a few days each to travel around and sight see along Rte 1.
Now for my question: Which of the coastline campgrounds has a full view of the ocean?
I have noticed, through my research, that there are many ocean front campgrounds but they are in inlets. Yes, they are by ocean water but they are surrounded by land. We would LOVE to find campgrounds that have full ocean views!!
Thank you!!!

RE: I'm back! Now what questions to ask????

Loving God's Country! I assume you understand what the weight issue is??? I think you'll be most interested in the CCC. I don't want to be simplistic so in case you are not familiar here's what the concern is with weight.
I don't want anyone to feel bad about being as simplistic as they can with me!! Remember, I'm new to all this. We've had many years experience with TT's but motorhomes are new to us and the easier you can make it for us the better!!! :B

RE: I'm back! Now what questions to ask????

I'm hearing more and more that weight is an important item to pay attention to. I know for me it would be too tempting to fill all those storage compartments up when, right now, storage is at a premium in our TT!!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all who have posted their information for us!! We will definitely use all of it!!

RE: I'm back! Now what questions to ask????

Never thought about that one!! I would like to think that people would treat something that is not theirs really good but that always isn't the case. Sometimes it's worse!! I'll definitely add this one to my list!!

RE: I'm back! Now what questions to ask????

Thank you all who've responded so far, I GREATLY appreciate it!!
The info. I've gotten between these last two postings has been sometimes like "wow, I never thought about that!". For example, when someone posted to be aware of the short wheel base of a gas and the "whip" affect it could have on your tow vehicle or even in taking out other cars in a tight turn. I shared that with my husband and, you guessed it, he said "I never thought about that!".
Again, thank you, thank you, thank you, for all your invaluable information!!!

RE: I'm back! Now what questions to ask????

I hope I wasn't too general in my questions. What I'm looking for is some helpful advice as to what to ask dealers or private owners about their rigs that a general look over might not show up. With this being the first time ever concidering this type of RV I'm wanting some helpful advice to know what to look for to purchase just the right one! In other words, if any of you would be getting ready to purchase a new (or new to you!) rig, what would you be looking for, what questions would you be asking?

I'm back! Now what questions to ask????

Since my last post I've been pouring over websites with Class A's for sale. We even visited Tom Raper's RV last friday and found one we really liked. It was a Four Winds Windsport!
Now my questions to you all now are,
1. What questions should we ask when looking at used rv's, whether from a dealer or a private owner?
2. What should we be concerned with when looking at used rv's?
I greatly appreciated all your information you provided me last time!!
Thanks again!!!!!!!!
